Wow, did not expect that. I still need to decipher the captions in full but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the story(/ies) and the word puzzle!

Is Stryaic a Romanic language? I ‘m a Portuguese speaker and apparently I can understand most of it…

My guess is that italian and portuguese speakers will recognize or suppose many words.

I can get a bit of what I think it might mean from French… if anyone deciphers it, please post your translation here! (Although I guess we would have no way to tell if you, too, were just making the story your own).

Me gustó mucho Juan. Me ofrecieron participar en el Fuocci Ensemble pero no acepté, compromisos previos, tú sabes. Jo!

To me the “Stryan” text seems like garbled Spanish with a bit of French, with a bit of Eastern European flavor and maybe a few English roots. I think I can understand about half of it.

    -did you write the captions?
that was a very particular translation.

-I assume you know, I will not lie.
The films are all that’s left for me from our country. Also it’s all thats left of my dear Ava. She didn’t have the will to fly with me and start a different life.
Ava is now the wife of an unfortunate goat milk producer. So i decided to tell a different story with each film.
Im suo siromas fjernto enc enki (WTF? no idea, my guess is: Im so sorry about this)
Nowahora Im suhnta enki sumato. (still lost, guess: Now I feel I’m done with this)

-¿Would you mind showing a different country for me?

This is just beautiful. I feel like this should be an entire movie all its own. I would totally watch it!

It’s similar to Europanto, in that most Europeans are able to understand enough to get by. But only a major polyglot or a team of us could understand all of it.

    - Did you write the captions? It’s an extremely peculiar translation, if I may say so.
    - I’m assuming(?) I know everything. I don’t want to lie.

    Correction, for the second one:
    - I assume you know. I don’t want to lie.

And I see isma got there first. I’m trying to piece together the two untranslated panels. Siromaš means poor in Croatian. Fjernto could be deleted, from Norwegian + a passive participle suffix. Enki appears twice, and it puzzles me. I guess sumato could be smart in Wapanese.

Such a beautiful piece, as each comic always is. How is everyone translating the Stryaic so easily? I can only recognize the French-ish and a little bit else.

    My attempt:
-Did you write the captions? this is a very peculiar translation, if I may say so.
-I assumed this day would come
-I don’t want you to get the wrong idea
-Films became the souvenirs of my journey from the darkness. And all make me think of my love Ava.
-She did not wish for a different life and did not want to leave
-Ava is the wife of a poor goat milker now
-I wanted to tell a vastly different story through these films
-I’m sorry miss, maybe I’ll remove them
-Now this might be too soon
-Won’t you experience a new journey with me?

… você me surpreende mais uma vez Juanito.
Em um país imaginário uma subtitler “re interpreta” textos de série, os textos de “série b” … mas há sempre alguém que vê … que nos dá que vamos jogar, deixando-nos sem palavras.

    Parabéns!

Did you catch the second panel? I think it’s something like “I am completely[?] alone and I miss the sun so much”
